Film Showing of 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture

  • Union Church Seattle 415 Westlake Avenue North Seattle, WA, 98109 United States (map)

Join us on January 12th for the showing of the critically acclaimed film, "1946: The mistranslation that shifted culture". This is a documentary film that illuminates how the possible misuse of a single word changed the course of modern history.

It chronicles the discovery of never-before-seen archives at Yale University which unveil new revelations, and casts doubt on biblical basis for LGBTQIA+ prejudice. Featuring commentary from prominent scholars as well as opposing pastors, including the personal stories of the film’s creators,
1946 is at once challenging and enlightening.

Are you wanting to engage more around this conversation? Curious about how we got to where we are today? Questioning and wondering what this means for Christians?  Join us!
