She is thrilled to be a part of a worshipping community that is committed to investing in families, neighborhoods, the workplace and the world that all might flourish. James B continually is being schooled by his three kids adding to the education he received at Princeton Theological Seminary. A native of Seattle he loves the rain but increasingly appreciates how sunshine makes biking and tennis more enjoyable.

Renée Sundberg | Spiritual Life Pastor

Renée has served in pastoral ministry to youth, college students and adults. She and her husband Justin were mission co-workers in Nicaragua. Renée studied speech communication and education at the UW and received her MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary.Renée loves to facilitate space for others to encounter God in new, creative and life-giving ways. Renée is enthusiastic about film, art, dogs, fresh starts, chocolate, stories and authenticity. Her years employed at Taco Time rekindle muscle memory to roll burritos for Union’s neighborhood partners. As a mom to four teenagers, she is continually enlightened, delighted, humbled and challenged.
